CIRCULAR

1. Our court Cases: The Writ petition filed by us in Delhi High court came up today (18.11.2011) as scheduled and our counsel drew the attention of the bench to the order of the Supreme Court passed on 14.11.2011 in the two SLPs filed by LIC.On receiving the copy of the order of the SC the bench clearly indicated their intention to pass a similar order immediately. The bench however could not technically pass such an order since the counsel for LIC was absent and did not turn up even after the matter was “Passed Over” by the Hon’ble Court. The Court however informed our counsel that the court itself would issue a notice to the LIC counsel requiring him to be present at the next hearing. The matter now stands posted to 16.12.2011 when we expect that final orders will be passed.

As regards our Kerala case our Advocate has advised that he will do his best to bring the same for final disposal before 10th of December.

2. SLPs in Supreme Court: We have been coming across differing views being exchanged on the possible implication on the directions for deposit of the amounts due to the pensioners in the SLPs.It is also our desire that the highest Court of justice in our country would bestow on the petitioners the much needed relief on both the major issues of DR anomalies and up gradation/revision of pension. We would however like to take this opportunity of appealing to all our members not to get over-excited on conflicting and unreliable messages being circulated. All of us are mature people and should have the patience to wait for matters to take their own proper course and take stock of matters at the appropriate time.

3. Meeting with LIC Officials: As already informed that we had sought an appointment with the Chairman of LIC, the date of the meeting has been confirmed now as 16.12.2011.

With greetings,

Sd G.N.Sridharan

General Secretary
